SUMMARY:NWCX League 2024-25 Round 4: Alyn Waters Country Park Wrexham 03 Nov 2024 LL11 4NG
DESCRIPTION:NWCX League  2024 Round 4 Alyn Waters Country Park Wrexham  LL11 4NG\n\nSunday 3rd November 2024\nFibrax Wrexham Roads Club welcomes the League to Alyn Waters Country Park for Round 5 .  Alyn Waters is a 400 acre country park in the County Borough of Wrexham. It is located between the villages of Gwersyllt and Llay and takes its name from the Afon Alyn flowing through. This is the oldest surviving fixture in the calendar. There's plenty to challenge competitors. If dry\, Alyn Waters will be  fast and free flowing. If wet\,  this race has long slippery stretches of woodland track and field sections that were once the muddiest in the calendar.   In recent years organisers have opted for the firmer Ysgol Bro Alun  playing field.  Expect some  grassy descents and a tale of two halves: a Country Park section of woodland and school playing fields section that forms a  natural amphitheatre.  Alyn Waters is unique in that spectators can view nearly 50% of each lap. No other venue offers such a panoramic view of the action.\nSign-on will take place on the school playing field.\nCompetitors and families please leave your dogs at home if possible.\nParking. There is ample parking in the School Car Park.  For competitors parking at the roadside: please ensure child safety at all times. Parents are to avoid their children riding until within the safety perimeter of the compound.\nAs in previous years  Fibrax Wrexham RC has arranged WC access for the duration of the event at Gwersyllt Cricket Club adjacent to Ysgol Bro Alun car park.  Please treat all facilities with respect.\nWe are grateful to the Wardens of Alyn Waters Country Park and the Head Teacher  & Governors of Ysgol Bro Alun\n\nChildren & Senior Leagues-Mandatory online entry  www.niftyentries.com\n\nAge categories (childrens' & seniors') will be determined by riders age as of 1st January 2025.\n\n10:50 Kids' Fun Race - duration 10 mins\n\n \tChildrens' fun race aimed at under 6 and inexperienced under 8 riders\n \tOn the day entry only - £2 per child\n \tFun race only - no official timings or league\n\n11:10 Race 1 - duration 20 mins\n\n \tBoys and Girls - Under 12s\, Under 10s  & Under 8s and inexperienced under 8 riders\n \tOnline NIFTY entry only -£3 (+£1 admin fee)\n\n12:00 midday - Race 2 - duration 45 mins\n\n \tUnder 14s and Under 16s -online NIFTY entry only -£5 (+£1 admin fee)\n \tAll female categories including:   Under 18s (F)\, Seniors 18-39 (F)\, Vet 40 (F)\, Vet 50 (F)\, Vet 60 (F) & Vet 70 (F)  - Online NIFTY £7 (+£1 admin fee)\n \tOpen categories - Vet 60 (M) & Vet 70 (M) Online NIFTY £7 (+£1 admin fee)\n \tFun category - open to anyone over 12\, no race timings or positions - £5 "entry on the day"\n\n13:30 Race 3 OPEN  duration 60 mins\n\n \tOpen categories-U18s (M) Online NIFTY  £5 (+£1 admin fee)\n \tSeniors (18-39)\,  Vet 40 (M) & Vet 50 (M)\, Online NIFTY - £15 (+£1 admin fee)\n \t(only female riders are eligible for female categories; any senior rider may enter Open Vet 50  category)\n \tRACE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 1230 PROMPT\n\nSeason Entry ceases after Round 3\n\nLeague Tables NWCX League standings will be based on best 6 results from 9 races - riders must race a minimum of 4 races t0 qualify for awards. Round 10 will ordinarily be a non-championship fun race to accompany prize-giving. In the event of bad weather cancellation or other  disruption\, NWCXG reserves the right to make Round 10 a qualifying round.\n\n(Vets will be classified V40\, V50\,  V60\, V70+ subject to participant numbers)\n\nNWCX welcomes ALL riders regardless of age\, gender or ability.  We expect respect and good manners at all times.   You can race on a cyclocross\, gravel or mountain bike. You can try the beginners race for 30mins.\n\nNew riders are very welcome at cyclocross races. If unsure  don't be afraid to ask at HQ. The North Wales series prioritises racing for children with most making rapid progress over the course of  a season.\n\nSingle frameset rule: to limit costs and entry barriers NWCX operates a single frameset rule. You must use the bike you start with. No spare bikes permitted once race underway.\n\nKnobbly tyres rule: cyclocross takes place on grass\, mud and gravel surfaces. It is essential for competitor safety that competitors fit knobbly tyres. Riders with inappropriate tyres will be asked to withdraw. This applies equally to children.\n\nCompetitors retain race numbers for their body and handlebars. Numbers are issued to competitors at their first registration.  Riders are instructed to retain and re-use their  numbers all season to simplify registration. Please keep your number safe between races. Replacement numbers will be charged  £5 per set.\n\nReturn of timing chips. Competitors  hand back their race chips at the finish. Each chip cost NWCX £38+vat.  You will be billed if you fail to return your chip immediately post-race.\n\nVenue address: Ysgol Bro Alun\nDelamere Avenue\, Gwersyllt\, LL11 4NG Wrexham
