SUMMARY:Round 9 - City of St Asaph
DESCRIPTION:Round 9 of the 2017/18 North Wales CycloX League: City of St Asaph LL17 0RF\n\n(sponsored by The Bike Factory\, Chester)\n\n\n\nSunday 21 January 2018\n\nRhyl Cycling Club welcomes NWCX to the City of St Asaph. This riverside park is one of our more compact venues.  What it  may lack in elevation it compensates with twisty single track.  St Asaph the only race run in the shadow of a cathedral.  When it rains sediments deposited by the Afon Elwy become glutinous and the race gets tough.  Where have we encountered that before?\n\nAt this event children race the full adult course (bypassing the hurdles).\n\nWe are guests of St Asaph City Council  who operate this park on behalf of the residents of the City.  All competitors must stay clear of the marked football pitch and U11's football training area. Anyone riding on the football grounds will be asked to leave the venue.  Competitors must respect junior footballers & coaches who will be finishing their matches as NWCX prepares to race at midday.\n\nEntries are payable on the day.\n\nMale and Female public WCs are located in the complex opposite the Park entrance. Take care when crossing the road. Please treat facilities with respect.  A female WC is available in the pavilion building.\n\nRiver hazards: this park is bordered on one side by the Afon Elwy. Following  wet weather this river can become fast flowing. The park is safely used by thousands of people and no hazard will arise if NWCX visitors stay away from the river bank. Parents: please ensure children keep clear of the river.\n\nDog hazards: one of our biggest safety risks are free running dogs. Signs will ask dog owners to  keep their animals on a lead  although this cannot be guaranteed by organisers.  Please leave dogs at home if at all possible.  Otherwise please ensure use of a lead.\n\nParking: Cars are to be parked on the gravel car park or on the grass verge to the left of the access road. There is an overspill car park near the medical surgery located prior to the mini roundabout. Beware height restrictions.\n\nHeight Restrictions:  The Park gates have overhead barriers. Competitors with roof mountings please take care when entering the park. The organiser will make every effort to have the gantry unlocked. This cannot be guaranteed and competitors are responsible for their vehicles.\n\nTimings:\n\n10 -10:45 Race 1&2 number pick up and fun race registration.\n11:00 - Kids fun race\n11:20 Race 1: U12/U10/U8 Entry Fee (£2 online or £5 on the day)\n11:50 Race 2: U16/U14/ Adult novice/fun (£4 online or £7 on the day)\n12:30 - 13:00 Race 3 number pick up (£4 online or £7 on the day)\n13:15 Race 3: Juniors & Adults (Nifty online entries only\, no payment on day)\n14:30 - all hands to the deck to help take the course down please\n\nNO riding on the course whilst other classes are racing\nRace 1 & 2 can pre-ride 10-10:30\nRace 3 can pre-ride 12:30 - 13:00\n\n(Vets will be classified V40\,V50\, V60+ subject to participant numbers\, Male & Female)\nNewcomers regardless of age\, gender or ability are welcome. As usual you can race on a cyclo X bike or MTB.\n\nChildren: come and try our fun race.
