October 26 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Round 2 of the 2025-26 North Wales Cyclocross League: Eirias Park LL29 7SP

 Sunday 26 October 2025

Eirias Park  was built in the 1920s and retains its quintessential charm a century later.  Originally called  “The Park by the Sea,” it nowadays  hosts RGC North Wales Rugby Academy,  domestic rugby international matches,  championship athletics, rock and classical concerts. It is home to impressive football complex and thriving leisure centre.

This predominantly grassy course incorporates rolling parkland, mature woodland  and even a small brook.  In wet conditions, Eirias can be amongst the muddiest of venues.  In the dry it presents tight turns and negative cambers.

Parking instructions: Follow “Cycle Event” signs and park in the car park in front of the stadium.

League Tables NWCX League standings will be based on best 6 results from 9 races – riders must race a minimum of 4 races to qualify for awards. Round 10 will ordinarily be a non-championship fun race to accompany prize-giving. In the event of bad weather cancellation or other disruption, NWCXG reserves the right to make Round 10 a qualifying round and/or adjust league scoring criteria in the event of cancellations.

(Vets will be classified V40, V50, V60, V70+ subject to participant numbers)

NWCX welcomes ALL riders regardless of age, gender or ability.  NWCX expects respect and good manners at all times.   You can race on a cyclocross, gravel or mountain bike. You can try the beginners race for 30mins.

New riders are made very welcome. If unsure, don’t be afraid to ask at HQ. The North Wales series prioritises racing for children with most making rapid progress over the course of a season.

Single frameset rule: to limit costs and entry barriers NWCX operates a single frameset rule. You must use the bike you start with. No spare bikes are permitted once the race is underway.

Knobbly tyres rule: cyclocross takes place on grass, mud and gravel surfaces. It is essential for competitor safety that knobbly tyres are fitted. Riders with inappropriate tyres will be asked to withdraw on safety grounds. This applies equally to children.

Competitors retain race numbers for their body and handlebars. Numbers are issued to competitors at initial registration.  Riders are instructed to retain and re-use their numbers all season therefore simplifying registration. Please keep your number safe between races. Replacement numbers will be charged £5 per set.

Return of timing chips. Competitors hand back their race chips at the finish. Each chip cost NWCX £44+vat.  You will be billed if you fail to return your chip immediately post-race.
